National Highways Drainage Design – DMRB-Compliant Solutions

We have extensive experience working on the National Highways network and deliver drainage designs fully compliant with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB). From strategic road improvements to detailed local upgrades, we understand the technical, regulatory, and delivery requirements of major highway schemes.
Our Director brings over 20 years of hands-on experience working with National Highways on major infrastructure projects, routine maintenance schemes, flood alleviation works, and complex land drainage challenges. This senior oversight ensures that every design we produce reflects a practical understanding of site constraints, stakeholder expectations, and long-term asset performance.
Attention is given to key elements such as pollution control assessments in accordance with LA 113, ensuring compliance with water quality objectives and discharge consents. We design linear drainage systems including v-channels, ACO channels, and gullies, with spacing calculations based on carriageway gradients and flow rates. We also cover cut-off drainage, land drainage, and carry out comprehensive culvert and outfall assessments—ensuring hydraulic performance, network capacity, and environmental considerations are met from concept to construction.
